Overview
A thread lift places special absorbable medical threads (PDO, PLLA, etc.) beneath the skin to mechanically lift and suspend sagging tissue. It is used to firm cheeks, a double chin and mid-face tissue that has sagged with gravity, to sharpen the jawline and to lift the brows for a fresher expression. Medically, it provides non-surgical tissue reconstruction and stimulates the synthesis of new collagen and elastin fibres beneath the skin, so the tightening and renewing effect continues long after the threads have dissolved.
Procedure and Important Notes
How Is It Performed?
Local anaesthesia is applied to the thread entry and exit points. Barbed or coned threads inside special micro-cannulas are placed in the subcutaneous tissue and the tissue is suspended upwards.
Aftercare
For the first week, avoid opening your mouth very wide, chewing hard foods and exaggerated facial expressions. Do not massage your face or sleep face down, and take care to avoid any knocks to the face.
