Overview
Botox (botulinum toxin) is a safe medical aesthetic treatment that temporarily relaxes the dynamic wrinkles caused by overactive facial expression muscles. In aesthetic medicine it is most often used to soften forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows and crow's feet around the eyes, to prevent wrinkles from deepening and to give the face a fresher expression. It is also used to correct smoker's lines above the lip (barcode lines), for neck bands, and to slim the jawline by reducing the masseter muscle (masseter Botox). Beyond aesthetic use, it offers medical solutions for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the underarms, hands and feet, and for controlling chronic migraine.
