Overview
Ozone therapy is a medical complementary method based on applying a precise mixture of pure oxygen and ozone (O3) gas to the body, increasing cell stimulation and tissue oxygenation. The most common method (major ozone) involves taking a small amount of the patient's blood, ozonating it in a sterile system and returning it to the patient. In aesthetic and complementary medicine it is used to speed up metabolism at a cellular level, increase the amount of oxygen reaching the tissues and trigger antioxidant mechanisms. Its main effects include strengthening the immune system, relieving chronic fatigue, improving circulation problems and removing toxins from the body (detox). By stimulating collagen synthesis in the skin, it provides anti-ageing protection, revitalises the skin and speeds up the healing of chronic wounds.
Procedure and Important Notes
How Is It Performed?
In the major method, blood taken from the patient (about 100 ml) is mixed with ozone gas in special medical bottles and sets, then returned to the patient intravenously. Local (minor, local or bagging) treatments can also be applied as needed.
Aftercare
You can return to daily life immediately after treatment. Drinking plenty of water on the day of treatment supports metabolism and the elimination of toxins. Avoiding strenuous exercise and excessive alcohol is advised.
