Overview

A hair transplant moves healthy hair follicles (grafts) from the donor area at the back of the head and behind the ears, which is genetically resistant to hair loss, to bald or thinning areas using micro-surgical techniques. It is used to treat permanent hair loss caused by genetic (androgenetic alopecia), hormonal or traumatic factors, restoring the hairline and hair density with a natural look. Medically, current techniques such as FUE, DHI or Sapphire FUE are used to permanently resolve baldness on the scalp. The procedure is also safely used to fill scars or gaps in the beard, moustache and eyebrows, and to cover burn or wound scars.

Procedure and Important Notes

How Is It Performed?

The donor area is numbed with local anaesthesia and the follicles (grafts) are harvested one by one with micro-motors. Channels matching the natural angle of the hair are then opened in the recipient area (or DHI implanter pens are used directly), and the follicles are placed precisely.

Aftercare

For the first 3 days, protect your head from knocks and water, and sleep on your back at an upright angle. The first wash should be done at the clinic or with special shampoos as instructed, and any crusts should be removed without force. For the first month, avoid strenuous sports, saunas, Turkish baths, the sea or pools and direct sunlight.
